Nestled in the quiet countryside you'll find the timeless Waverly Estate, in Lunenburg, Virginia. A beautiful location with endless possibilities. Located next to a 200 acre cattle farm, this 1840 house and church is complete with a 175 year old Hackberry Tree, gorgeous magnolias draping to the floor, crepe myrtles and romantic weeping willows along with a fire pit, tent, and a quaint and cozy bistro lit patio. This estate dates back to before the civil war and it is perfect for a large outdoor wedding, or even a cozy winter elopement. The professionals that came together for this shoot wanted to show that the venue could offer more than it's beautiful organic scenery. Couples that are searching for the perfect location for a smaller intimate celebration will fall in love with this beautiful estate, rich with history. When styling this shoot, we opted to stay away from the traditional cranberry and evergreen and accent that you might first think of when winter comes to mind. The cool tones of the home and church lent themselves perfectly to the sage, dusty blues, whites, ivories, and grey you'll see in this dreamy wonderland styled shoot. Combining heavy greenery with light fabrics and faux fur, the lush alter gives us all the feels. The use of many lanterns and candles gave romance to the already gorgeous 1800's church that was just remodeled. The rich and heart food provided the perfect meal you'd love to enjoy during winter, and the flow of the skirt with the depth of the grey sweater is a fun twist on winter wedding style.
